LOCNEURO - lab-on-chip per una medicina predittiva e di precisione nel neuroCOVID

2022-2024
COVID-19, exploiting olfactory pathways or the autonomic nervous system (SN) of the respiratory tract and enteric canal, causes structural and metabolic damage in the central SN by increasing proinflammatory cytokines (cytokine storm). In addition to the clinical examination, it is necessary to have disease markers in blood, saliva and liquor - liquid biopsy. The development of lab-on-chips and biosensors represents a promising option in this field. This will represent a turning point for all neurodegenerative diseases, even when the COVID-19 emergency ends.
