DEFLeCT - Digital tEchonology for Lung Cancer Treatment

The project aims to create a technologically innovative platform aimed at supporting the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. DEFLeCT will integrate the consolidated diagnostic practices for thoraco-pulmonary tumors with the most innovative genetic-molecular approaches, within a digital platform capable of harmonizing and enhancing the content of all the information coming from different sources, applying statistical and quantitative models. DEFLeCT will in this sense be an enabling environment for the medicine of the future, which is precision or personalized medicine, based on the valorization of information about people, genes and diseases. Thanks to the generation of omics data (including genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic data), the possibility of annotating molecular data with functional data conducted on tumor organoids generated by patients and the integration of clinical data with molecular data, DEFLeCT represents the first multidisciplinary technological platform for the construction in Piedmont of a HUB for personalized and predictive medicine on lung cancer and respiratory system diseases. At the same time, the development of innovative technologies and devices will allow the analysis of pharmacological responses of individual tumors by correlating function with omics and clinical profiles.
