2D-EMMA - Technologically Scalable 2D Materials and Extended Operando Measurement Methodologies for Advanced Device Fabrication

2023-2025
2D-EMMA aims at engineering large-area 2D material thin films and their operando characterization in industrially relevant device architectures under ""real-world"" working conditions, e.g., under applied external voltage and gas atmosphere, to have a transformative impact on their future use by developing a fundamental understanding of their design and functionality. The main research objectives are: i)Synthesis and design of TMD “2D-in-3D” thin films with technologically relevant growth conditions; ii) controlling material properties and device interfacing through versatile solution-based molecular engineering approaches supported by DFT modelling; iii) expanding the frontiers of operando methodologies for the development of advanced device materials; iv) advanced device fabrication via combinable building blocks for highly flexible sensing applications.
