The project aims to create a system based on innovative technologies for the management of drinking water quality, to be used in distribution networks characterized by peculiarities and which integrate increased environmental sustainability in terms of replacement of chemical agents, such as chlorine, with continuous monitoring techniques aimed at maximum efficiency in the management of treatments. The proposal includes an area of activity relating to the treatment of Cl2 free water with the development of two prototype electrochemical systems to be used respectively for the reduction of bacterial load and metallic pollutants. It also includes a line of work relating to the continuous monitoring of quality parameters, through the prototype of an automatic, off-grid and Internet-of-Thing system for monitoring the distribution network, capable of managing in efficiency and guarantee the treatment processes.
